Join us as Dr. Tara Stoinski talks to us about these magnificant apes and the fight to save them from extinction. Dr. Stoinski is the President, CEO, and Chief Scientific Officer of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International as well as an active researcher in primate cognition, social behavior, and reproductive strategies. She also works as manager of conservation partnerships at Zoo Atlanta, and she is adjunct faculty in the psychology departments of Emory University, Georgia State University, and the Georgia Institute of Technology.
She is a member of the Ape Taxon Advisory Group and Gorilla Species Survival Plan of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, the IUCN Primate Specialist Group’s Section for Great Apes, and the American and International Primatological Societies. She received graduate degrees from Oxford University and the Georgia Institute of Technology.
